2 - Balancing Dizziness

Associated contents

  • Nature -> Mediterranean Sailing (immersive video)

Procedure

  • Safety Measures:
    • To begin the navigation activity, stand or sit comfortably in a stable position. Make sure you have enough space around you to move your body slightly if needed.
    • Hold the touchpad controller or device securely in your hand, ensuring a firm grip.
  • General Instructions:
    • Gently turn your body and head to face the direction you want to explore within the 360° image. Use slow, controlled movements to avoid sudden shifts that might trigger dizziness.
    • Place your thumb or finger on the touchpad. For most touchpads, you can move your thumb in different directions to control your view.

    • To rotate your view horizontally (left or right), slide your thumb in the corresponding direction on the touchpad.

    • To look up, slide your thumb upwards on the touchpad, and to look down, slide it downwards.

    • As you navigate the immersive video, keep your movements smooth and deliberate. Take your time to adjust your view and explore the environment at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

    • If you ever feel disoriented or dizzy, try focusing on a stationary point within the video to reestablish your sense of balance. You can also take a brief break by looking away from the video and focusing on a stable object in your physical surroundings.

    • Remember to breathe steadily and relax your body throughout the activity. Deep, controlled breathing can help you maintain calmness and reduce the impact of dizziness.

  • Feedback and Evaluation:

    • At regular intervals, rate your feeling of dizziness on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being minimal dizziness and 10 being severe dizziness. Use this scale to track how your sensations evolve during the exercise and across multiple therapy sessions.

    • Feel free to ask your therapist for support or guidance if you encounter any challenges or discomfort during the navigation activity.
